The men's hockey team have now went 22 straight games without a loss dating back to last season after a 6-4 win at SUNY Potsdam on Saturday. Shawn Skelly and Adam Krug led the offense with a goal and two assists apiece. The Bulldogs had their 20-game winning streak halted with a 6-6 tie last evening but again trailed in the second period only to score the game's final three goals in the last 16 minutes of the period.
Brad Houston got Adrian on the board with his first of the season at the 5:45 mark of the first period with an assist from Mike Dahlinger at even strength. Krug notched a power-play goal, his third goal of the season, at the 8:03 mark to give AC a 2-0 lead. Chris Stansik and Quinn Waller were given assists on the goal. Potsdam took a 3-2 lead scoring those three goals in a span of 6:49 in the first period. Fraser Smith's unassisted goal at 19:04 gave Potsdam a 3-2 advantage after one period.
Eric Miller scored his first of the season at even strength with an assist from linemates Krug and Skelly at 0:45 of the second period to tie the game at 3-3. Colin MacLennan put home a short-handed goal at 2:17 to regain a one-goal lead for the Bears. Skelly's power-play goal at 4:00 tied the game again at 4-4 as Waller and Stansik were again given assists on the goal. Miller's second of the game proved to be the game-winner at 12:57 of the second as Krug and Skelly helped out on the score. Sam Kuzyk added an insurance power-play goal at 19:39 of the second with assists from Houston and Jeremy Klaver. Potsdam outshot Adrian 10-4 in the third period but neither team found the back of the net.
Brad Fogal made 16 saves including stopping all 10 shots on goal in the third period (1-0-1). Trevor O'Neill took the loss between the pipes for the Bears stopping 12 shots before being pulled before the start of the third period.
