Final Stats

CRESSON, Pa. - The season debut for senior Desmond Young could not have gone better on a personal level but as team results go it was a tough 80-78 loss to Catholic University on Saturday. Young scored a career-high 34 points and played all 40 minutes in the two-point loss to a team that has won 20 or more games in five of the last six seasons. He went 14-of-21 from the field and 6-of-8 at the free throw line. Young also grabbed two boards and dished out one assist.

Transfer guard Michael Staley scored 13 points in his Adrian debut. Staley went 5-of-12 from the floor and 2-of-4 from behind the arc. Staley also had three boards and three assists. Matt Wayne had a superb night with 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting with four boards before fouling out after 31 minutes. Senior Brett Asher went a perfect 4-of-4 from the field with six boards and two assists.

Adrian shot an impressive 55.7 percent (34-of-61) from the floor and were 17-of-29 in the first half. Adrian turned it over 11 times but also had 11 assists.
