The Adrian College volleyball team split a pair of matches on Friday at the Capital Tournament and won their first match of the day on Saturday against Hanover College by the scores of 25-14, 23-25, 25-14 and 25-21. The team played in the third-place match against DePauw on Saturday afternoon and lost in four sets to claim fourth place in the tournament with an overall record of 2-2.
Courtney Sellers was named to the All-Tournament Team and established a career-high with 15 kills in the four-set match against Hanover. Sellers had seven kills, 10 digs and three blocks in the second match last evening against RIT after a 10-kill performance against host Capital in the opening matchup.
Rebecca Tincknell had 10 kills for the Bulldogs and also chipped in three blocks. Adrian had a total of 12 kills in the first and third sets. Lucie Smith had eight kills in the RIT match but did not record a kill against Hanover on Saturday.
Adrian College will open conference play on Tuesday, September 2 at Saint Mary's.
