The Adrian College volleyball team split a pair of matches in a MIAA triangular on Saturday afternoon hosted by Calvin College. The Bulldogs opened the day with a 25-22, 25-23, 29-27 loss to Saint Mary's. Adrian tallied 38 kills and hit .179 for the match. Natalie Niblock had 32 assists, six digs and four kills for the Bulldogs. Rebecca Tincknell shared the team-lead with nine kills and hit .308 with six digs and three block assists. Samantha Mercy had 19 digs in the back row and Courtney Sellers added 16 digs and two service aces.
The Bulldogs defeated #16 Calvin on their home floor improving to 7-9 overall and 3-5 in the MIAA in the second match of the day. The five-set match had scores of 23-25, 25-21, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12. Adrian had 51 kills and hit .164 for the match against the Knights. Holly Pellegrin had 11 kills and hit .357 with six block assists. Jenny Carlson had a team-high 18 kills and added six total blocks and four digs. Valerie Smith added 10 kills and hit .267 in 30 attacks. Niblock had 45 assists and 15 digs. Mercy tallied 24 digs and two service aces for the Bulldogs. Sellers added 20 digs and five kills with two block assists.
