#8 Bulldogs Record 99 Shots on Goal in 4-0 Win at Northland

Jan. 23, 2009

Final Stats

ASHLAND, Wis. - The NCAA does not keep statistical records of shots on goal but with 99 on Friday night it is safe to say that Adrian's 4-0 win at Northland featured a busy goaltender in Daniel McIntosh. The Bulldogs seemed to fire the black right off the puck and McIntosh might just be seeing pucks coming at him in his sleep tonight after making an incredible 95 saves. That might be the more impressive stat as Adrian just could not find the back of the net despite having a seemingly easy time against the Northland defense.

Senior Adam Krug registered 15 of those shots on goal and scored twice for numbers 14 and 15 on the season. Krug netted a power play goal at 2:36 of the second period on a 4-on-3 with assists from Shawn Skelly and Brad Houston. He added the fourth goal for Adrian at 19:06 of the third period at even strength with assists from Sam Kuzyk and Chris Stansik.

Freshman Mike Leone scored his fifth of the year which proved to be the game-winner at 2:09 of the first with assists from Mike Towns and Kuzyk. Sophomore Mike Dahlinger scored his 10th goal of the season at 5:27 of the third with assists from Kuzyk and Leone.

Adrian went 1-for-5 on the power play and Northland was 0-for-4. Sophomore Brad Fogal made 11 saves and picked up his third shutout of the season and eighth of his career. Adrian (16-1-1, 13-0 MCHA) had 40 shots on goal in the first, 30 in the second and 29 more in the third. Sophomores Joel Workman and Drew Satterley each had seven shots on goal. These same two teams collide tomorrow to close out the weekend series.
