AC Skaters Complete Weekend Sweep with Another Shutout Win over Northland, 5-0

ASHLAND, Wis. - The men's hockey team has certainly seemed to find their groove after another dominating performance on Saturday with a 5-0 win at Northland. The shots on goal came back down to earth and Daniel McIntosh only had to make 39 saves in this contest as Adrian registered 44 shots on goal. Northland had exactly 11 shots on goal for the second game and Brad Fogal made all 11 saves earning his fourth shutout of the season and ninth of his career in net for the Bulldogs.

Kyle Frieday scored a pair of goals and had eight shots on goal. Frieday scored the game's first goal at even strength with 2:13 left in the first period with assists from Brad Houston and Quinn Waller. Mike Leone continued his trend of scoring a goal in four straight games with his sixth of the year just 19 seconds into the second with an assist from Sam Kuzyk.

Frieday made it 3-0 at the 5:36 mark of the second again at even strength with assists from Waller and Leone. Jeremy Klaver scored a power play goal with 1:40 left in the second as Shawn Skelly and Adam Krug were given assists on the goal. Chris Stansik ended the scoring with a power play goal at 8:09 of the third with helpers from Kuzyk and Mike Dahlinger.

Adrian went 2-for-6 on the power play and Northland went 0-for-9. Over the last six games, Adrian's penalty kill has been spectacular allowing zero goals in 32 chances. Adrian meanwhile is 14-for-36 (.389) on the advantage over the same stretch. Adrian has also outscored their opposition, 49-2, with four shutouts. Adrian is now 17-1-1 overall and 14-0 in the MCHA. They have won 29 straight regular season conference games, which is a league all-time record.
