Men's Hoops Falls 58-46 versus DePauw at Defiance Tournament

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The men's basketball team battled a tough DePauw team on Tuesday and fell 58-46 against the Tigers (8-2) in the first game of the Purple and Gold Tournament hosted by Defiance College. The Bulldogs were without the services of leading scorer Michael Staley but still managed to hang tough against the Tigers.

Matt Wayne had a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards in 29 minutes. Wayne was 5-of-9 from the floor with one blocked shot and one steal. Jovon Mosley led all scorers with 16 points. He was 6-of-12 from the field and was 3-of-4 at the foul line with seven boards in 30 minutes. Blair Ramsey added six points getting the start in place of Staley.

Adrian shot 30 percent in the first half and 43.5 percent in the second half. The Bulldogs were 2-of-12 from behind the arc and 6-of-13 at the charity stripe. Adrian grabbed 36 boards and held a plus-three edge on the glass. DePauw shot 36.7 percent for the game and were 17-of-23 from the line. DePauw committed 12 turnovers and Adrian had 15 turnovers. The Bulldogs (4-5) will play OSU-Lima tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. to conclude the tournament.
