Bulldogs Lose 97-79 at Hope

HOLLAND, Mich. - The Adrian College men's basketball team was defeated by the Flying Dutchmen on Wednesday night by the final score of 97-79. The Bulldogs are now 8-15 overall with a conference record of 5-8. Michael Staley scored a game-high 25 points, and Desmond Young contributed by scoring 23.

Hope took the lead thirty seconds into the game off a three pointer from Jesse Reimink. The Flying Dutchmen never looked back as they held the lead for the entire game. They pushed the lead to double digits midway through the first half and they held a 58-32 lead at halftime.

13 different players scored for Hope. They shot 63 percent from the floor compared to 53 percent from the Bulldogs. Both Staley and Young did a majority of their scoring from the charity stripe. Staley connected on 13-of-14 free throws, while Young was 8-for-10. Matt Wayne was the only other Bulldog that scored in double figures. Wayne was 4-of-5 from the floor and ended the game with 10 points.

Adrian will play their final regular season game on Feb. 21, at Olivet. The first round of the MIAA Tournament will begin on Feb. 25.
