Final Stats

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The men's basketball team dropped another close one on Saturday afternoon at the new Van Noord Arena on the campus of Calvin College. The Bulldogs fell 63-59 despite the fact that senior Desmond Young was held without a point for the first time in his career. Michael Staley led Adrian with 17 points and four assists in 31 minutes. Staley was 6-of-11 from the field and made two triples.

Matt Wayne also had another solid game with 13 points and eight rebounds. Wayne was 6-of-11 from the floor in 28 minutes. Senior Brett Asher scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds. Adrian trailed 28-22 at halftime despite shooting just 32.3 percent in the first half. Adrian got to within 34-33 at the 13:37 mark on a jumper by Asher but could not take the lead. Adrian later again got to one point at 53-52 with 2:44 to play. Calvin made six straight free throws to push the lead to 61-53 with 57 seconds left.

Adrian (6-14, 3-7) finished the game with just 10 turnovers and were 24-of-56 from the floor and 6-of-20 from the arc.
