Burns Shines in 3-0 Loss at Earlham

RICHMOND, Ind. - Adrian College dropped a 3-0 women's soccer match on Friday afternoon at Earlham College. The Quakers took advantage of two defensive miscues in the second half to extend a 1-0 halftime lead into a three-goal win.

The Bulldogs did generate a few more scoring chances in this match with seven shots including four shots on goal. However, they could not find the back of the net for the second match to open the season. Samantha Bono led the team with two shots on goal.

Sophomore Steffeny Burns was a bright spot in goal for Adrian. She made several key saves including a few diving stops which kept her team in the game. Burns faced 12 shots on goal and made nine saves. Earlham had 21 total shots including 14 in the second half.

Lauren Berry, Joy Doucette and Callie Thompson each scored a goal for the Quakers who improved to 2-0. Megan Holthaus stopped all four shots on goal for the shutout in goal.
