The Adrian College men's basketball team picked up their second conference win of the season with a 78-60 victory over the Alma Scots on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs are now 7-7 overall.
Adrian used a balanced offensive attack to win the game. Four Bulldogs scored in double digits including Jovon Mosley, Blair Ramsey, Wesley Reed, and Dennis Mason.
AC shot 64 percent from behind the arc to build a lead in the first half. Cody Barnes hit a three pointer to give Adrian a 3-1 lead, and the Bulldogs never looked back as they cruised to victory over the Scots. Adrian made their first five three point baskets and ended the first half 9-for-14 from downtown.
Reed was 3-of-5 from three point range in the first half, and Cody Barnes did damage early as he connected on three of his four three point attempts. Adrian opened up an 18 point lead at halftime. They scored 11 points off Alma turnovers, and they also had 15 bench points.
Adrian cooled off from the field in the second half, but still shot 42 percent. Mason highlighted the final twenty minutes of action with two baseline dunks. The freshman recorded his first double-double of his college career with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Adrian's leading scorer Jovon Mosley ended the game with 12 points and six rebounds. Blair Ramsey also impacted the game as he tied his season-high point total with 13.
The Adrian bench outscored Alma 42-16. Mason and Reed each scored in double digits, but AC got additional help from the sideline to hang onto the lead. Joseph Kopicki scored seven points, while Michael Staley and Delano Collins each had five.
