Box Score HOLLAND, Mich. – The Adrian College
volleyball team was unable to challenge the eight ranked Hope
College on Saturday as they fell in straight sets 3-0(14-25, 19-25,
21-25). Their record is now 9-16 and 3-10 in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs best chance to take a game from the nationally
ranked Flying Dutch was in the third and final set as the two teams
exchanged leads six times, while having 10 ties. With the score
tied 16-16, Hope rattled off nine of the next 14 points to take the
set.
Leading the Bulldogs offensively was senior Rebecca
Tincknell(Troy, Mich./Troy) with nine kills. Freshman Ashley
VanHouten(Cadillac, Mich./McBain) had a solid game with five
kills and two blocks. Fellow freshman Danielle
Bogedin(Shelby Twp, Mich/Utica), junior Roxanne
Duran(Toledo, Ohio/Springfield) and sophomore Stephanie
Holloman(Southfield, Mich./Roeper) each had four kills on the
night. Duran was also second on the team with 12 digs.
Senior Jamie
Taylor(AuGres, Mich./AuGres-Sims) led the Adrian defense with
13 digs. Joanna
Slisinger(Sterling Heights, Mich./Cousino), a junior, led the
Bulldogs with 13 assists, while senior Katie
MacFarlan(Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) added in 10.
Adrian will next play host to MIAA opponent St. Mary's
College at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27.
