ALBION, Mich. – The Adrian College volleyball team escaped a close match against Albion with a 3-0(25-19, 26-24, 26-24) sweep. The Bulldogs are now 10-17 on the season and 4-11 in the MIAA.

The first set was all Bulldogs as the lead only changed hands twice. Down 24-23 in the second set, Adrian rattled off three straight points to escape the grasps of Albion. The third set was close the entire time. Neither team was able to mount a lead, as the biggest lead for either team was at 10-7 with the Bulldogs leading. With the score tied at 23, Adrian was able to score three of the next four points to take the set and the match.

For Adrian, senior Rebecca Tincknell (Troy, Mich./Troy) and junior Roxanne Duran (Toledo, Ohio/Springfield) led the way with nine kills each. Duran also added in eight digs and two aces. Sophomore Stephanie Holloman (Southfield, Mich./Roeper) followed with six kills and five digs. Freshman Danielle Bogedin (Shelby Twp, Mich/Utica) dropped in three kills.

The setting tandem of junior Joanna Slisinger (Sterling Heights, Mich./Cousino) and sophomore Kristy DeClercq (Livonia, Mich./Churchill) combined for 26 of the teams total assists. Slislinger also had nine digs and four kills, both season-highs.

Senior Jamie Taylor (AuGres, Mich./AuGres-Sims) led the team defensively with a match-high 11 digs.

Adrian will finish the regular season as they host Olivet College and Defiance College starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 30.
