Season Starts with 62-47 Loss at Widener for men's basketball

CHESTER, Pa. - The men's basketball team had a tough time putting the basketball in the hoop in their season debut on Friday night as they fell 62-47 at Widener University in the opening game of the Widener Tip-Off Tournament.

Sophomore Ray Reed scored a career-high 12 points in 13 minutes off the bench for Adrian. Reed was 4-of-6 from the floor and 4-of-4 at the foul line and also had five rebounds including four offensive rebounds. He was limited to 13 minutes because of four personal fouls and played all of his minutes in the second half.

Adrian shot 20-of-55 (36.4) from the floor making 10 field goals in each half. The Bulldogs failed to connect from behind the arc going 0-of-6 in the contest. Widener had a huge advantage at the foul line going there 20 more times than Adrian. Widener was 23-of-31 (74.2) while Adrian went 7-of-11 (63.6). The foul totals were 26-15 with the Bulldogs having every player committing at least one foul.

Senior Jovon Mosley did not have a great shooting night (5-of-12) but did finish with 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Sophomore Delano Collins picked up his offense with nine points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor.
