ADRIAN, Mich. - It was a hot shooting first half which gave confidence to a Michigan-Dearborn team that picked up their second win of the season in the home opener for Adrian (1-3) on Saturday afternoon. The Wolves shot 65.2 percent in the first 20 minutes including 4-of-7 from the arc and then never gave up the lead in a 70-60 loss for the Bulldogs.
UMD led 38-31 at halftime on the back of their strong shooting and rebounding. In the second half, Adrian tied the game at 38-38 with a 7-0 run to start the second half. After that point it was UMD responding with a 9-0 run to lead 47-38 at the 14:55 mark. Adrian would not gain the lead for the rest of the game. The Bulldogs got within 65-60 at the 2:22 mark on a free throw by Josh McPherson but back-to-back buckets for the Wolves pushed the lead back to 60-60 with 1:30 left in the contest.
Senior Jovon Mosley had a game-high 23 points connecting on six field goals including a pair of triples. He also went 9-of-11 at the charity stripe and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds in 32 minutes of action. Sophomore Wesley Reed also reached double figures with 11 points but was just 4-of-12 shooting including 1-of-4 beyond the arc in 33 minutes. Adrian shot just 31.1 percent for the game including 29 percent in the second half.
