Final Stats

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's basketball team held their conference opponent to just 50 points for the third straight game this season. The Bulldogs improved their overall record to 11-9. AC now ranks third in the MIAA standings with a 6-3 record.

Wesley Reed led the Bulldogs to victory by scoring a career-high 18 points against the Hornets. Reed hit 50 percent of his three point attempts (4-for-8) and also added two assists. Jovon Mosley made an impact as he nearly missed a double-double performance with 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Kalamazoo led 30-29 at halftime. The Hornets shot 57 percent from the floor and were able to open up a nine point lead midway through the opening half. Sophomore Joe Prepolec scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the first 20 minutes of action. Prepolec made the highlight reel early in the game by throwing down a fast break dunk while being fouled. He hit his free throw and gave Kalamazoo a 10-6 lead.

Joseph Kopicki sparked the Adrian lineup in the first half by coming off the bench to score seven points. Kopicki hit three of his five shots including a three pointer.

The game remained close in the second half. Mosley gave AC the lead early in the half with a layup, but the lead would go back and forth until the 15:24 mark when Ryan Clark knocked down a pair of free throws to tie the game at 36-36.

Reed answered with a jumper during Adrian's next possession and the Bulldogs would hold onto the lead for the remainder of the game. AC pushed the lead to double digits with eight minutes remaining.

Senior Matt Wayne made a layup making the score 46-40. Delano Collins stole the inbounds pass and found a streaking Blair Ramsey who finished in the paint to extend the lead. After a solid defensive stand Mosley made a layup that gave Adrian a 10 point lead.

Kalamazoo called a timeout after the AC run and switched their defense to a 3-2 zone. The Hornets went on an 8-4 run as the zone stalled the Adrian offense. Kalamazoo cut the Adrian lead to four with 2:23 left on the game clock, but Reed was too much for Kalamazoo. Reed iced the game for Adrian by hitting his fourth three pointer of the game, and Adrian won by the final score of 59-50.
