OLIVET, Mich. -
The baseball team kept a firm hold on second place in the MIAA standings with a pair of convincing wins on Friday afternoon at Olivet. The Bulldogs (13-7, 8-2) have played two more games in the league as they trail Hope (7-1) heading into tomorrow's doubleheader at home against these same Comets.
Jake Cappelletty had a monster day going 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and an RBI in game one. In the nightcap, he went 3-for-3 with another double, two runs and two RBI's. He raised his season average to .414 and now has seven doubles and 19 RBI's in 2010.

Ryan Domschot (3-1) picked up the win in game one. He threw six innings and allowed five hits and just the one earned run which came in the third inning. The first game was close heading into the bottom of the sixth. Olivet loaded the bases against Domschot but the junior southpaw got an inning-ending double play. The Bulldogs followed with six runs in the top of the seventh to put the game away. Sean Hartman threw the seventh and struck out two.
Adrian scored five unearned runs in the top of the first in game two as Olivet's defense let them down and starter Aaron Campbell in particular. Campbell lasted just 1.1 innings and allowed two earned runs in the second inning before being replaced by Braydon LaFramboise. Josh Lancaster (4-1) had plenty of run support as he threw six scoreless innings before allowing three earned runs in the seventh. Lancaster could not get the final out and allowed seven hits with a pair of walks and five strikeouts.
Nate Sarkissian went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs in game two. Jason Greer also had a pair of RBI's and two hits including his fifth double of the season. Greer also went 2-for-2 with an RBI double in game one.
