Final Stats
BIRMINGHAM, Mich. - The Adrian College women's
lacrosse team (13-2) traveled to Seaholm High School to play Trine
University on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs came out on top with
a 24-7 victory over the Thunder.
AC dominated the first half of action as they held a 15-2
advantage at halftime. Things slowed down in the second half as the
Bulldogs outscored Trine 9-5.
Rachel
Johnston was the player of the game for Adrian. Johnston scored
nine goals and added six assists to earn 15 points on the day. Stacey
Birlson and Lindsey Day were also
heavily involved in the offense. Birlson scored five goals and made
two assists, and Day scored three goals. Heather Newblom
was yet another Bulldog to score multiple goals against Trine.
Newblom ended the day with two goals.
Andrea
Soloko, Cassie Hoyez, Amanda
Lambert, Jovelle Ward, and Mariana
DiGiovanni rounded out the scoring for Adrian.
Laura
Finfrock got the win as the AC goalie. Finfrock made eight
saves. Meghan
Smerecki also got some playing time on Saturday. Smerecki made
one save.
