Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College
volleyball team has won three of their last four conference matches
as they defeated the visiting Albion College on Wednesday 3-0
(25-14, 25-19, 25-18). The Bulldogs record now sits at 6-7 for the
season and 3-4 in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs trailed by a point early in the first set at 7-8,
but then rattled off 18 of the next 24 points to put down the
Britons. The second set was closer as the set had five lead changes
and seven ties, before Adrian nailed down seven of the last eight
points. The final set didn't take the Bulldogs long to get in a
rhythm, as they took the lead 3-2, and refused to let go including
scoring six in a row at one point.
The offense for the Bulldogs was led by senior Rebecca
Tincknell who had a game-high 12 kills to go along with two
service aces and two block assists. Sophomore Stephanie
Holloman tied a season-high with nine kills, while adding in
two solo blocks and two block assists. Roxanne
Duran, a junior, played a solid all-around game as she had a
game-high 12 digs while knocking down seven kills and two service
aces. Senior Beth
Donovan and sophomore Kelly
MacDonald each added in three kills for Adrian. The team tied a
season-high for service aces in a game with eight.
Junior Joanna
Slisinger led with Bulldogs with 16 assists, while sophomore Kristy
DeClercq added in 14 more.
The Bulldogs will travel to Detroit on Saturday to participate
in the Marygrove quad where they will face-off against Manchester,
Concordia and Marygrove starting at 10:00 am.
