Box Score The Adrian College Volleyball team opened MIAA Conference play
against nationally ranked Calvin College. The Bulldogs were able to
gain the quick advantage on the ninth ranked Knights in the first
set. Leading early by three points, the bulldogs lost their grip on
the lead as Calvin rallied at 6-6 and held on to win the first set.
Adrian was unable to regain their first set momentum and fell in
straight set 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-12).
Senior Rebecca
Tincknell led the team with eight kills while adding two
blocks. Sophomore Stephanie
Holloman led the team with a .300 hitting percentage while
contributing five kills, two digs and two blocks. Roxanne
Duran, a junior, led the team with seven digs and dropped in a
kill and an ace. Junior Joanna
Slisinger led the team with 11 assist and sophomore Kristy
DeClercq added seven.
"Tonight was a tough conference opener, but our team came out
strong," Coach Elisa Joris said. "We did some good things in the
match. We still have some work to put in, but every day we continue
to get a little better."
Adrian will travel to MIAA opponent Kalamazoo on Friday,
September 10.
