Box Score DECATUR, Ill. – The Adrian College (7-3) men's basketball team, under the guidance of third-year head coach Mark White, finished its non-conference slate today (Dec. 29) with a 71-61 win over Millikin University (1-9) at the Griswold Center.
Down 9-5 at the 15:45 mark in the first half, Adrian conducted an 11-0 run that was topped off by a jumper courtesy of freshman Eric Lewis to give the Bulldogs their first lead of the game.
At 6:19, the Bulldogs had their largest lead in the first half when sophomore Richaud Pack converted on a traditional three-point play. Adrian maintained its lead and went into halftime up 32-22.
In the second half, Adrian would possess a double-digit lead through out the duration of the game.
For the game, the Big Blue held a slight 42%-41% shooting percentage advantage over the Bulldogs. Pack and Lewis led Adrian's offense with 18 points each. Junior Brad Whitby followed with 11. Classmate Cody Barnes added eight points, while junior Sean Gallant and freshman Adam Meier contributed with six points each.
On the glass Adrian topped Millikin 38-33. Pack led the Bulldogs with seven rebounds. Gallant added six and Whitby, Barnes and Lewis each had five caroms.
Adrian is back in action Wednesday (Jan. 4) as it begins its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schedule when it host Calvin College at 8:00 p.m. inside of Merillat Gymnasium.
