ADRIAN, Mich. - On a chilly night, the women's lacrosse team (1-3) picked up their first win of the season in their home opener with a 19-9 triumph over Allegheny College in the first game of the Bulldog Invitational. Adrian jumped ahead 12-4 at halftime ending the half by scoring eight straight goals. It was tied at 4-4 with 17:49 left in the half before Adrian's outburst. Junior Amanda Lambert scored three of her team-leading four goals in the final 14 minutes of the first half. The Bulldogs led 4-1 before Allegheny scored three straight goals to knot it up.
Adrian continued its hot streak into the second half scoring the first goals making it 11 straight to lead 15-4. Lambert's fourth goal of the night and 12th of the season at 18:50 made it 16-6. Senior Mariana DiGiovanni scored back-to-back goals at 13:11 and 9:38 with the first one a man-up goal. Freshman Hannah Early scored her first collegiate goal at 3:05 for Adrian's 19th goal of the game.
Stacey Birlson, Rachel Johnston, Olivia Duncan and DiGiovanni all scored three goals each while Andrea Soloko and Lindsey Day also added a goal for the Bulldogs. Birlson led the team with six assists while Soloko chipped in with three assists. Adrian outshot Allegheny, 30-19, and scored four man-up goals. Freshman Jul Tehovnik got her first win in net playing 55:04 and making five saves. Amanda Faraone played the final 4:56 in net and allowed one goal.
