ADRIAN, Mich. – On a cold and rainy night, the Adrian College women's lacrosse team took care of Ohio Wesleyan, winning 24-9. The Bulldogs pulled their record up to .500 on the season at 4-4.

The Bulldogs came out firing as Lindsey Day scored the first goal of the game only 34 seconds in. Amanda Lambert added another Adrian goal just 40 seconds later. The Battling Bishops battled back to tie the game at 2-2 but that would be the closest they would come to the Bulldogs. Adrian scored 14 unanswered goals including one by Laurel Van't Hof with just one second left in the half as Adrian led 16-2 at halftime.

Adrian came out quickly in the second half as Mary Accomando scored in under a minute into the period. The Bulldogs would add seven more throughout the second half leading by as much as 24-3. Wesleyan added six unanswered goals near the end of the half, including three while Adrian was a player down after being called for yellow cards.

Rachel Johnston led all players with a game-high five goals and two caused turnovers while picking up four groundballs. Day added in four goals, all in the first half, while grabbing two groundballs. Meghan Reynolds and Lambert each recorded a hat trick, all of Lamberts goals came in the first half. Stacey Birlson recorded a game-high three assists. Hannah Early led all players with game-highs of 10 draw controls and six groundballs.

In goal, Jul Tehovnik recorded eight saves while scooping up two groundballs.

Adrian controlled every offensive and defensive statistical category on the night. Adrian out shot the Battling Bishops 36-to-20 on the evening. The Bulldogs picked up 35 groundballs compared to 19 for Ohio Wesleyan. Adrian was 8-for-10 in clear attempts while Ohio Wesleyan was 3-for-8. Adrian held a significant advantage in draw controls as the Bulldogs held a 23-to-11 advantage.

Adrian will travel to Carthage for their first MWLC game of the season on March 26 for a 3:00 pm game.
