Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - With .7 left on the clock, the Adrian College Men's Basketball team had a chance to win the game but the inbound pass was deflected away as Alma stole a conference win, 69-68, from the Bulldogs. With the loss, the Bulldogs drop to 14-8 (7-5 MIAA).
The second half was very back and forth as Adrian held a 54-45 lead over Alma before the Scots went on a 9-0 run to tie the game up with 6:36 left in the game. It looked like Adrian might have had a huge momentum swing when Freshman Eric Lewis had a put-back dunk to cut the Alma lead to one with 2:40 left, but the Bulldogs were unable to come from behind.
Lewis led the Bulldogs with 16 points, on 7-13 shooting, while adding eight rebounds. Sophomore Richaud Pack added 14 points while junior Dennis Mason put in 13.
The Bulldogs struggled from the free-throw line on the afternoon, starting the second half one for their first nine. Adrian went 14-25 from the line overall but did manage to out-rebound Alma, 37-30.
Adrian now has just two games left on the regular season as they will take on MIAA opponent Kalamazoo at home on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. for the home finale.
