Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - In the last regular-season home game, it was a team effort for the Adrian Bulldogs Men's Basketball team as four players were in double figures in the 77-59 win over Kalamazoo. With the win, the Bulldogs move to 15-8 (8-5 MIAA) and are tied for second place in the conference with Trine, who the Bulldogs have split with this year.
Sophomore Richaud Pack and freshman Adam Meier were the leading scorers in the game, with 18 points each. Meier was also a force on the glass, collecting 14 rebounds to give him his second career double-double.
The Bulldogs got out to a good start in the first half, going into the locker room holding a 39-34 lead over the Hornets. The second half was much the same as Adrian out-scored Kalamazoo 38-25 in the half. For the game, the Bulldogs out-rebounded Kalamazoo 46-23.
Freshman Eric Lewis added 15 points on 7-13 shooting while junior Sean Gallant scored 10 points. Junior Delano Collins scored seven points and added eight assists while junior Dennis Mason and Meier each blocked three shots.
Adrian now will travel to Albion Saturday for a 5:30 pm game that has a lot at stake. With a win and a Trine loss, the Bulldogs can earn the two seed and a home semi-final game in the MIAA tournament. Trine, 14-9 (8-5 MIAA) travels to #1 Hope, 23-1 (13-0) on Saturday for a 7:30 pm tip-off.
If Adrian and Trine were both to win Saturday and have identical conference records, the Bulldogs would earn the two-seed and have a home semi-final conference game based on the records against the top teams in the conference. If the Bulldogs were to lose, the conference tournament positioning would be further based on the results of the Calvin and Trine games to be played on Saturday.
The Bulldogs were victorious over Albion on Jan. 25 when the Britons lost 76-48 at the Merillat Gymnasium.
