ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College volleyball team fell from the ranks of the unbeaten on Tuesday night (Sept. 4) in a straight sets loss to #3 Calvin College at the Merillat Center Gymnasium.

Adrian (4-1, 0-1 MIAA) put Calvin on the ropes in set one but the Knights made plays when they needed it for a 25-22 win. Adrian could not recover after that falling 25-10, 25-14 in subsequent sets.

The Bulldogs totaled 20 kills for the match and hit .049 as a team. Calvin countered with 44 kills and a .269 team hitting percentage. Ellie Mindick led the Bulldogs with six kills and also chipped in six digs. Kristy DeClercq led the squad with eight assists and had four digs. Emily Ribant led the team with 13 digs. Makahla Jacobs had three kills and two blocks for Adrian. Lizzie Kamp led the Knights with 17 kills and had a .316 hitting percentage. Kelly Gordon led Calvin with 16 digs.
