HOLLAND, Mich. - The men's basketball team ran into a hot second half shooting team on Wednesday in Hope College who converted on 68.4 percent (13-of-19) from the field in the final 20 minutes en route to the 67-53 win over the visiting Bulldogs.

Adrian known for their stout defense (fifth-best scoring defense in NCAA Division III) could not guard the Flying Dutchmen in the second half which turned a close game into a double-digit win. Nate Snuggerud struggled in the first matchup between these two teams but rebounded with a game-high 24 points going 9-of-16 from the floor in 32 minutes. Unsung hero Alex Eidson came through with 17 points (6.8 ppg coming into the contest) and five rebounds. Eidson nailed four triples in 29 minutes.

Adam Meier scored the game's first two points and then Hope led until the 11:55 mark when Adrian regained the lead at 14-13 after a triple by Drew Torey. Hope led by six points on three different occasions to round out the half going into the locker room up 29-23.

The Bulldogs cut the lead down to 32-30 with 17:47 left but it was Hope who increased their lead to 42-32 over the next 3:56 to open up a comfortable spread over Adrian. The Bulldogs cut the lead under double digits with five minutes to play at 57-49 and again at 59-51 with 4:20 to go. It was the closest they would get dropping the season series to Hope and falling to 15-5 overall and 4-5 in the MIAA. Adrian has dropped to a fourth-place tie with Olivet in the conference standings and will go to Trine on Saturday in a crucial matchup.

Eric Lewis scored 18 points to lead the Bulldogs. Cody Barnes chipped in 12 points as Adrian shot 39.2 percent from the floor overall. Hope went 14-of-21 at the foul line compared to 7-of-8 for Adrian.
