ROCK ISLAND, IL. – The women's lacrosse team (5-1) extended their own win streak by snapping Augustana College's (3-3) three-game win streak with a 16-11 victory Saturday afternoon.

Olivia Duncan (4 goals, 2 assists), Stacey Birlson (2 goals, 3 assists), Heather Newblom (3 goals, 1 assist), and Cassie Hoyez (4 goals) combined for 19 points in the win.

The Bulldogs went down 1-0, but scored the next four goals and never let the Vikings get closer than two goals the rest of the way.

Although the shots were even at 26 apiece, Adrian goalkeeper Maddie McDonald outsaved her counterpart and finished the afternoon with nine saves.

Newblom led the team in ground balls with seven, followed by Birlson with four. Both Newblom and Hoyez finished with four caused turnovers.

The Bulldogs will play Aurora tomorrow at 2 p.m. before returning home for a matchup against Denison next Saturday.
