ELMHURST, Ill. - Adrian College finished a hard fought weekend short of a victory. The Bulldogs played their final two matches of the Elmhurst Classic losing to Illinois Wesleyan and Coe College.

The Bulldogs played their first match of the second day against Illinois Wesleyan losing the first two sets 25-22 and 25-23 respectively, and they failed to rebound in the third set, 25-7, to keep their hopes alive.

Ellie Mindick helped lead the charge with great defensive play as she compiled 23 digs. Jordan Brisson also was a factor, totaling six kills to accompany nine digs.

The second match was another close contest when Adrian took on Coe College. The Bulldogs were in another battle losing 25-21, 25-19, 25-17. 

Brisson led the way with seven kills and 11 digs. Freshman Margo Joubran also played her part adding 15 digs to the box score.

The women are at home next taking on Kalamazoo to open both at home and in conference on Friday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m.
