Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs hosted Kalamazoo College Wednesday night as they looked to edge the Hornets in a crucial MIAA contest for both schools. Adrian carried a 10-point lead to the break, but failed to secure the lead in the second half as the Hornets came back to win the contest, 66-56. This loss drops the Bulldogs to 4-12 on the season and 0-5 in the MIAA.
The first half was all Bulldogs as they jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and carried this through the entire 20 minutes as they would go on to lead, 33-23, at the break. Adrian used their 3-point shooting to propel to the lead as they went 6-of-13 in the half.
The second half saw the Hornets surpass the Bulldogs quickly as Adrian allowed a 11-0 run over a span of 5:35 and saw themselves at a 41-38 disadvantage with 11:08 remaining. The Bulldogs would only gain the lead once more as Kalamazoo secured its victory by going 16-of-25 from the free throw line as a team and won the second half by a 43-23 margin to take home the victory.
Rickey Jackson led the Bulldogs with 16 points. Curtis Gordon compiled nine points, seven rebounds and four assists. Wesley Reed tallied 14 points.
Adrian will see action again Saturday when the travel to Alma College for an 8 p.m. tipoff.
