ALMA, Mich. – The Bulldogs headed to Alma College to take on the Scots as Adrian looked to secure its first MIAA win of 2013-14. The Bulldogs fell behind early to the Scots as Alma broke out to a lead of 14 in the first half before the Bulldogs battled back only to trail at the half, 43-37. The Bulldogs fought the Scots hard in the second half but Alma made nearly all of their free throws coming down the stretch as they beat Adrian, 90-80. This loss drops the Bulldogs to 4-13 overall and 0-6 in the MIAA.

The first half saw the Bulldogs battle the Scots through the first 3:42 as the teams were split by a four point difference, 12-8 in favor of the Scots. Alma followed this with a 9-0 run over 2:37 of gameplay as the Scots opened a 13 point lead. The Bulldogs battled back to end the half as they went on a 7-0 run starting with 3:30 left in the half as they cut the Alma lead to six with 20 minutes to play.

The second half saw the Bulldogs take the lead as they took a 6-0 run over 1:32 of gameplay to leave the Scots behind, 61-60 with 8:00 left on the clock. Four lead changes and three ties followed but the Scots grabbed the lead and did not let go. Adrian did their best to score down the stretchand cut the lead but the Scots made their free throws down the stretch as they took the game from Adrian, 90-80.

Ben Rodak led Adrian as he scored 22 points on 9-13 shooting and added six rebounds and four steals.  Wesley Reed tallied 16 points and Rickey Jackson added 13 points. Curtis Gordon came off of the bench to notch nine points and two steals.

The Bulldogs will see action again when they travel to Holland, Michigan Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. to face Hope College.
