ADRIAN, Mich. – The early start for the freshmen line of Mathew Thompson, Taylor McCloy and Kyle Brothers has been very impressive and all three scored on Saturday (Nov. 1) in a 7-2 win over visiting Northland College. The Bulldogs scored a total of 16 goals against the LumberJacks over the weekend and improved to 2-0, 2-0 NCHA. Thompson scored at 11:31 of the first period with McCloy having a helper. McCloy scored his second of the season at 30 seconds of the second period from Brothers and Chris Leone. Brothers scored the team's sixth goal at 3:00 of the third period.

Adrian erupted for four goals in the second period to take a 5-1 lead after 40 minutes. Senior captain Duston Hebebrand scored the game-winning goal at 2:47 of the period from Ryan Gieseler and Ryan Lowe. Sophomore Jeremy Olinyk scored his first of the season at 7:56 as Leone got his second assist and Thompson his third assist of the season. Grant Telfer scored at 15:46 on the power play as his shot rang off the left post and across the goal line.

Ben Owen scored in the second for Northland and assisted on Karson Kuntz third period goal on the power play at 10:18. Senior Kevin Balas scored for the second straight game at 3:12 of the third from Austin Rust and Gieseler. Adrian outshot Northland, 33-15, and have won 19 in a row against the LumberJacks. James Hamby made the start in net and had 13 saves. Tyler Ampe made 26 saves for Northland in the loss.
