Bulldogs Dropped 4-0 versus Neumann

Box Score

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision against Neumann University on Sunday (Nov. 30) at Arrington Ice Arena. It was the first time in three years that the Bulldogs have lost back-to-back home games and they are now 8-2 overall. The Bulldogs did generate 36 shots on goal, but Neumann netminder Ben Curley had an outstanding performance making double-digit saves in each period.

Doug Rose gave the Knights a 1-0 lead after one period with his first goal of the season at 6:06 from Jory Mullin and Jon Low. The Knights then increased their lead to 3-0 after the second period. Johannes Sallila scored his first of the season at 9:15 from Anthony Pino and Matt Mazzarolo. Shayne Morrissey then added a power play goal at 17:04 from Low and Casey Rogers. Adrian had three power play chances in the second and fired seven shots on net but could not find the back of the net.

The third period started with even more adversity as Michael Hoy took a checking from behind major penalty seven seconds into the period. Adrian would kill off the penalty, but later in the period it was Josh Ranalli taking an interference minor and 15 seconds later at 13:23 it was Morrissey with his second power play goal of the game from Liam Board and Mikko Virtanen. Adrian emptied their net for over four minutes in the third to stage a comeback, but it was not to be on this day.

James Hamby (2-2) allowed three goals and made 16 saves before being replaced by freshman Dillon Kelley in the third. In Kelley's first collegiate action he made six saves and surrended one goal in 15:31 of ice time.
