Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio - The men's basketball team fell behind early and could not recover in a 96-68 loss at Mount Union on Saturday (Dec. 27) in the first game of a weekend tournament.
The Bulldogs could not calm the hot shooting of Mount Union who made 14-of-28 from behind the arc. Eight different Purple Raiders made a triple including three from Kyle Scelza who scored 11 points off the bench. Stevie Griffin led the home team with 16 points in 22 minutes and went 7-of-10 from the floor.
Adrian (2-7) did have success going inside with 44 of their 68 points in the paint. Mount Union did a fine job converting turnovers into points with a 27-9 edge over the Bulldogs. Mount Union (7-3) shot 57.1 percent for the game (36-of-63) and had 46 points from their bench. Adrian shot 45.8 percent (27-of-59) from the floor and went 9-of-12 from the free throw line. Rickey Jackson, Jr. and Curtis Gordon each had a team-high nine points. Jordan Denham scored eight points and collected two steals in his second game with the team. Ben Rodak had eight points shooting 4-of-7 in 24 minutes.
