Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs took on Hope College Saturday night in their final game of 2013-14. Adrian came out strong as they led the Flying Dutch after 20 minutes. The Bulldogs could not hold off Hope in the second half as the Flying Dutch slowly pulled away and took down Adrian, 73-56. This loss caps the Bulldogs 2013-14 record at 5-20 overall and 1-13 in the MIAA.
The first half saw the Bulldogs give Hope all they could handle. Adrian jumped out to an early 13-5 lead after the first 5:12 of the game as they forced the Flying Dutch into an early timeout. Three ties and two lead changes followed as the Bulldogs remained on top of Hope after 20 minutes, 35-34.
The second half saw the game remain close after the first 3:49 as the Bulldogs and Flying Dutch played to a 42-41 score in favor of Hope. Hope then followed this by opening up a 7-0 run over the next 1:56 of the game as they pulled ahead, 49-41 with 14:15 remaining. The Bulldogs were never able to recover from this deficit as the Flying Dutch pulled ahead to a double-digit lead. Hope made their free throws and held Adrian in check as they took the Bulldogs down, 73-56.
Rickey Jackson led the Bulldogs with 23 points and five rebounds. Wesley Reed added eight points, four assists, and three rebounds. Drew Torey tallied seven points and four rebounds.
