Box Score KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Adrian College women's volleyball team won on the road over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Kalamazoo in four sets. The Hornets (1-21, 0-12) took an early lead by winning the first set 25-23 before the Bulldogs (10-9, 6-5) won the next three sets (25-21, 25-14, 25-15) to close out the match. Adrian senior Jordan Brisson led the Bulldogs with seven kills, 19 digs and six total blocks.
Adrian recorded a hitting percentage of .253 as a team for the match. Sydney Martines (.238), Nicole Motz (.333), Margo Joubran (.500) and Inessa Bell (.538) all contributed on offense by recording hitting percentages over .225.
The Bulldogs played well defensively as well by recording 18 total blocks in the match. Brisson (19), Rachel Wathen (14), Olivia Welch (15) and Haley Mellon (18) all recorded double digit digs in the match for Adrian College.
The win gives the Bulldogs a 6-5 record in the MIAA good for the third spot in the conference, one game ahead of fourth place Trine (6-6).
Adrian will look to continue their late season push and hold onto to a place in the conference's top four teams when they host no. 10 Hope on Friday October 23. The match is set for a 6:30 p.m., start.
