Bulldogs Cruise in Season Opener

KENOSHA, Wis.--The Adrian College men's basketball team scored 105 points, the most in Coach Mark White's tenure, in route to a convincing victory over National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) opponent Robert Morris - Peoria, 105-76, in the season opener at the Carthage Classic.

Senior transfer Christian Covile recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He shot 9-for-14, 64.2 percent from the floor and 4-for-5 from three point range.

Travon Johnson and Venson Bryant also scored double digit points with 11 each. The Bulldogs shot 54.2 percent from the floor, 43.8 percent from three point range and 77.3 percent from the charity stripe for the game.

Adrian never trailed for the entire contest and built a double digit lead over the Eagles at 14:15 left in the first half. The lead would never fall to single digits for the rest of the game. 

The Bulldogs will play winner of Carthage and Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday, November 14 in the Carthage Classic Championship game after the 2 p.m. consolation game between Robert Morris - Peoria and the loser of Carthage and Iowa Wesleyan.
