FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Freshman Connor Armour recorded a career-high three assists as No. 5/6-ranked Adrian College battled back from a pair of two-goal deficits to tie host Marian University (Wis.), 4-4, in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association men's game on Friday at Blue Line Family Ice Center.

Adrian settles to a 3-1-1 record, both overall and in the NCHA South Division, while Marian is now 2-1-1 both overall and in the NCHA South.

Neither team was able to get the game-winner in overtime, as Marian held a slim 3-2 shots on goal advantage in the extra 5-minute session.

The Sabres jumped out to a 2-0 lead after 13 minutes gone in the first period on goals by Jake Howie and Nick Monfils 4 minutes and 30 seconds apart.

Freshman Bryan Yim cut the deficit in half with only 13 seconds remaining in the opening stanza on assists from senior alternate captain Chris Leone and Armour.

The teams traded power-play markers in the second period as Marian led 3-2 after 40 minutes. Derek Thorogood scored unassisted to make it another two-goal advantage for the Sabres at the 7:42 mark before Leone pulled the Bulldogs within 3-2 at 14:45 on a feed from junior Michael Hoy and Armour.

The freshmen connection of Trevor Boyd, Armour and Yim brought the Bulldogs into a 3-all draw with 4:05 left in regulation, with Boyd scoring his second goal of the season.

Junior Jeremy Olinyk gave the visitors their first lead of the evening with 2:32 left in the contest, assisted by sophomore Mathew Thompson. Marian, however, forced overtime with a goal just 43 seconds later by Howie on a pass from Gianni Mangone, making it 4-all.

Marian outshot Adrian 33 to 29.

The teams will complete their two-game conference series here at 5 p.m. (Eastern) Saturday, with Live stats.
