Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's basketball seniors went out on a high note on Saturday afternoon in a 56-34 win over visiting Kalamazoo. All three seniors playing in their final home game scored as Jamison Webster had a season-high 17 points. Curtis Gordon chipped in nine points and Spencer Dennison had two points scoring the first basket of the game.
The Bulldogs (8-15, 6-6 MIAA) never trailed in the contest and played suffocating defense against the Hornets. Kalamazoo set a season-low for points scored and it was also the lowest point total given up by the Bulldogs this season. Adrian split the season series with Kalamazoo by allowing just eight field goals and forcing 24 turnovers. Kalamazoo connected on 3-for-17 from the floor in the first half and coughed it up 13 times. The Hornets failed to make a three-pointer during the game in five tries. It was the first time this season the Bulldogs did not allow a triple. The Hornets went 18-for-27 at the free throw line.
Dennison scored his first points of the season to start the game and then Rickey Jackson, Jr. connected from deep to give Adrian a 5-0 lead. The Bulldogs increased their lead to 12-4 at the 15:32 mark prompting a 30-second timeout by Kalamazoo. The Bulldogs kept their foot on the gas stretching the lead to 21-9 with 6:35 left in the first half after a Gordon three. The lead ballooned to 19 points at 30-11 with 1:22 left and Adrian led 33-15 at the break.
The Bulldogs upped their lead to 24 points at 54-30 late in the second half for their largest lead of the game. Jamison Webster went 6-for-10 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the arc in 28 minutes. Jackson, Jr. scored nine points and snapped a streak of eight games in double figures. Gordon grabbed four boards and dished out four assists in 28 minutes. Justin Webster contributed eight points and two rebounds in 13 minutes. Adrian shot 37.3 percent from the floor overall and were 7-for-9 at the foul line.
