Box Score 2 Adrian, Mich. – The Adrian College women's volleyball team swept the first day of the MIAA/HCAC crossover winning both games they played. The Bulldogs began the day by sweeping Earlham in three straight sets (25-6, 25-12, 25-7) and finished off the night beating Anderson in four sets (25-9, 25-22, 19-25, 25-22). Freshman Olivia Welch led the Bulldog attack with eight kills, junior Sydney Martines recorded seven kills and seniors Chelsea Jordan and Jordan Brisson each contributed five kills.
Senior Nicole Motz led the team in assists for the second straight game with 16.
Adrian finished the night by defeating Anderson to improve their record to 2-0 in the tournament and 3-0 overall. Welch recorded her season high in kills with 15 as she led the team in that category for the third straight match. Brisson and Marines also tallied season highs in kills with nine each.
Motz also recorded her season high in assists with 41 which is the third straight match she has led the team.
The Bulldogs conclude the tournament on Saturday with matches against Mount St. Joseph at 12 p.m. and Manchester as 4 p.m.
