Box Score ANGOLA, Ind. - The Adrian College women's volleyball team won its third straight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest when the team traveled to Angola, Indiana and defeated Trine 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-16, 25-12).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Adrian jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning the first set 25-18. The Bulldogs had a hitting percentage of .242 for the set.
• The Thunder would rally, holding Adrian to a .085 hitting percentage on the way to a 25-21 win in set two to tie the match at 1-1.
• The Bulldogs would storm back to win both the third and fourth sets (25-16, 25-12) to put Trine away and earn the victory.
• Adrian had the highest hitting percentage of the match in the fourth with .417. The Bulldogs never trailed in the fourth set and only allowed the Thunder to tie the score twice, both at the beginning of the set.
TOP DOGS
• Olivia Welch and Margo Joubran each recorded a double-double in the match. Welch had 12 kills and 15 digs; Joubran tallied 10 kills and 11 digs.
• Welch also contributed three service aces, bringing her season total to 32 (she is three service aces away from tying the 10th best season in program history).
• Marisa Dion set the offensive tone with 32 assists, a match-high. She is just 80 assists away from tying her career-high total of 350.
• Haley Mellon had a match-high 21 digs, bringing her season total to 282 (her second highest season total in her career).
• Cassadine Reed helped offensively and defensively with seven kills, three block assists and one solo block.
THE OPPOSITION
• Janaya Wilder (11 kills) and Morgan Harris (10 kills) led the Thunder offense.
• Samantha Ihrie and Raven Hood paced the offense with 19 and 10 assists respectively.
• Wilder, Hood and Ihrie totaled 18, 11 and 10 digs each.
• Shannon Scott and Emma Bowman tied a match-high three block assists.
UP NEXT
• The Bulldogs return home to host a tri-match tomorrow (Saturday) against St. Mary's and Siena Heights. Adrian opens the match by facing the Belles at 1 p.m. and closes the match with a match against the Saints at 5 p.m. St. Mary's and Siena Heights will face off in the middle match at 3 p.m.
