Box Score ADRIAN, Mich.--Freshman Trevor Boyd scored twice, senior alternate captain Chris Leone added two assists and the Adrian College men's hockey team doubled up on College of St. Scholastica, 4-2, to take a 1-game-to-none lead in their Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Harris Cup semifinal series on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Freshman Brian Bachnak got the scoring underway for Adrian just 2 minutes and 26 seconds after the opening face-off when his shot went under the goalies pads and the puck trickled over the goal line.
= Adrian freshman Kevin Entmaa made 21 saves to improve to 13-0 on the season.
= The Bulldogs took a 2-0 advantage in the second period when junior Austin Hervey fired in a slap shot from just over the blue line at the 5:36 mark.
= Boyd made it 3-0 at the 7:16 mark of the third stanza on a feed from sophomore Kyle Brothers. Boyd added an empty-netter with 13 seconds to go.
= CSS pulled its goalie for the final 35 seconds, but couldn't get the equalizer to send the game into overtime.
THE OPPOSITION
= The visitors got on the scoreboard with a pair of goals in the third period to close within 3-2. Keegan Bruce notched his 14th of the season at the 9:41 mark and Derek Sutliffe had a shorthanded tally at 16:49.
= Brandon Millin, who assisted on the Saints' first goal, had a team-high four shots.
= Kale Derkson won 6-of-11 face-offs.
= Goalie Tyler Bruggeman made 34 saves to keep the game within reach for the Saints.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Entmaa is the only unbeaten goaltender in NCAA men's all-Divisions and he is the first Bulldog in program history to win his first 13 decisions to start a season.
= Adrian dominated shots on goal (38-23, including 16-4 in the opening period) and face-offs (42-of-68).
= Sophomore alternate captain Mathew Thompson won 15 of 23 face-offs and Hervey was 7 for 11.
= The Bulldogs move to 22-2 all-time in the conference playoffs.
UP NEXT
= The teams will meet here again at 3:05 p.m. Saturday in Game 2 of the NCHA Harris Cup Semifinals. If CSS wins, there will be mini-game immediately following that contest to determine which squad advances to the conference championship next Saturday.
