Box Score HOLLAND, Mich. - The Bulldog women's lacrosse team rallied late in the second half but fell just short of earning their first MIAA win this season at Hope.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hope jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead when Hannah VanAlst scored less than two minutes into the game
• Ava Cares would respond a few minutes later, putting Adrian on the board and tying the game
• Annika Nuler would score the first of three goals on the day to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead midway through the first half before Hope would respond to score three of the next four goals to give the Flying Dutch a 4-3 lead going into halftime
• Hope would score five of the first seven goals in the second half to build the lead to 9-5 with 18:53 left to play
• Adrian would cut that lead in half when Jenna Carter and Alex Branum each scored a goal with 15:50 left in the game
• The teams would exchange four goal runs with the Bulldogs scoring their final goal with less than one minute left to play, the score sitting at 13-11 in favor of the Flying Dutch
• VanAlst would score with five seconds remaining to seal the win for Hope
ADRIAN TOP PERFORMERS
• Carter led the Bulldogs offensively with five goals and one assist on the day
• Nuler would finish with three goals, two ground balls and two caused turnovers
• Branum contributed two goals, three ground balls and a game high five draw controls
• Alison Dungey also had three ground balls
• Lisa Lemm, Branum, Cares had two caused turnovers
HOPE TOP PERFORMERS
• Emily Deane and VanAlst each scored four goals
• VanAlst earned both of Hope's assists in the game and led the team with three caused turnovers and four draw controls
• Reinie Thomas led with three ground balls
