ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's volleyball team opened up conference play with a 3-1 win over Trine. Margo Joubran and Olivia Welch each recorded a double-double to lead the Bulldogs (Joubran 16 kills and 13 digs, Welch had 13 kills and 11 digs).

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Adrian jumped out to a quick start, winning the first two sets 25-8 and 25-19

• Trine would hang tough to pull out a win in set three 25-18

• The Bulldogs recorded hitting percentages of .520 in the first set and .316 in the fourth  set

TOP DOGS

• Margo Joubran and Olivia Welch led Adrian by recording double-doubles

• Marisa Dion paced the offense with 38 assists

• Dion also contributed two kills and one service ace

• Haley Mellon led the Bulldogs with 16 digs

• Mellon also tallied three assists and a service ace

• Welch added two service aces and two block assists to her stat line

• Sydney Martines contributed five kills, one dig, six block assists and one solo block

THE OPPOSITION

• Janaya Wilder led the Trine offense with 11 kills

• Samantha Ihrie had a team-high 27 assists

• Rhylee Beshears led the defense with 19 digs

• Shannon Scott, Morgan Harris and Emma Bowman all recorded three block assists
