Box Score ADRIAN, Mich.--For most of the game, the Adrian College women's basketball team battled blow for blow nationally-ranked Trine University on Wednesday evening. But in the second half, the visiting Thunder outscored the Bulldogs, 39-21, to take a 69-51 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association victory.

TOP 'DAWGS
= Freshman Sadia Johnson led Adrian with 16 points.
= Sophomore Ashley Morris added 14 and she had two blocks.
= Freshman Angelina Goosby had a team-high seven rebounds, junior Starnisha Harris had six, and freshman Alyssa Kubik chipped in five.
THE OPPOSITION
= Hayley Martin posted a double-double with game highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Martin was 8-for-13 from the field, and she added two blocked shots.
= Brandi Dawson contributed 14 points, two steals and two blocks.
= Taylor Cole (9 points) dished a game-best six assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Trine made 22 of 41 field goals for a .537 field goal percentage while holding Adrian to just .328 (20-61).
= The teams were tied 15-15 after the first quarter and 30-all at halftime. In the second quarter, Adrian fought back from a nine-point deficit, 26-17 with 4 minutes and 40 seconds left, ignited by a traditional three-point play by senior Kennedy Kunce--her only points of the contest--and capped by a 3ball from classmate Paige Machnacki.
= Late in the third quarter, Dawson scored eight straight points for Trine that eventually turned a 37-34 lead into a 53-42 cushion going into the fourth. Shaely Duff (11 points off the bench) drained a pair of treys to cap the 16-8 run that closed the third.
= Trine kept the double-digit advantage for the fourth quarter.
= Adrian was able to stay close for 25 minutes by outscoring the Thunder on second-chance points (16-4) and converting turnovers (17-11).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= With the loss, Adrian is eliminated from the MIAA postseason tournament chase.
= Adrian still leads the all-time series 17-13.
= With 19 victories, Trine ties its highest win total since joining NCAA Division III in 2004.
= Johnson had her consecutive 20-point games snapped at four. She is the top-scoring freshman in the MIAA at 16.1 points per game.
