ANGOLA, Ind.--Nationally-ranked Adrian College continued to roll on Saturday by running its win streak to 11 after a pair of one-run victories at Trine University. The Bulldogs came from behind in the opener, 6-5, and held off the Thunder in the second, 2-1, to sweep their four-game Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association baseball weekend series.

TOP 'DAWGS
= Senior Hunter Hayes continued his torrid week by going 3-for-4, including a pair of doubles, with three runs batted in during Game 1 and added a single in Game 2.

= Sophomore Gunner Rainey was 2-for-3 with a walk in the nightcap.

= Junior Jason Schroeder (4-1) was dominant on the mound in the second contest, tossing a complete-game, six-hitter. He had a career-high 10 strikeouts and walked just one.

= Senior Frank Resto accounted for both RBI in the second game, going 3-for-4.

THE OPPOSITION
= Cale Hall, Chris Frantz and Stephen Sieczkowski all rapped two hits in the nightcap. Sieczkowski finished with three hits on the day.

= Kevin O'Malley and Nick Ricci hit home runs in the opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED, Game 1
= Trailing 3-1 after four innings, Adrian erupted for five runs in the top of the fifth to take the lead for good. The Bulldogs scored on an infield error, Hayes had a key three-run double to left-center field and junior Chad Paddock capped the rally with a sacrifice fly to left.

= The Thunder got two runs back in the bottom half to close within the final margin, 6-5. O'Malley connected for a two-run homer to right-center.

= Trine erased a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the second and one in the next frame. Ricci tied it with a home run to left and Sieczkowski's infield single to third base gave TU a 2-1 advantage. Thomas Rivet made it 3-1 with a RBI-single, but the Thunder could have built on their lead if they didn't leave two baserunners after no outs.

= Adrian struck first in the opening stanza when sophomore Brady Wood had a RBI-single up the middle.

= For the contest, Adrian outhit Trine 10 to four and both teams left five runners on base.

HOW IT HAPPENED, Game 2
= Resto was the offensive hero for the Bulldogs as he knocked in junior Korey Mazur and Hayes with a two-run single up the middle in the second. Hayes opened with a single and Mazur drew a walk with one out.

= Trine cut the deficit in half by scratching its only run off Schroeder in the fifth. Sieczkowski led off with a single off the shortstop and eventually came around to score on Colton Conn's RBI-groundout to second base.

= Schroeder did not allow a runner past first base the rest of the way, retiring 11 of the final 14 hitters he faced to hold the Thunder at bay.

= Both offenses had six runners left on base.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Adrian holds a commanding 58-14 lead in the all-time series, including 14 wins in a row over Trine. The Bulldogs are 24-9 at Trine.

= Resto had a sacrifice bunt in the opener to give him 27 in a career—surpassing Tony Vennekotter, who had 26 from 2003-06, on the AC all-time chart

= With 10 hits in Game 1, Adrian has recorded double-digit hits 19 times this spring,

= Rainey saw his 12-game hitting streak (27-for-50, .540) snapped in Game 2 when he went 0-for-4. He is now batting .346 on the season, and has 97 career hits.

= Adrian is ranked third in the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Rankings, released today. The national office will conduct two more regional rankings.

= The Bulldogs have extended their MIAA-record 10-consecutive conference championships with today's victories.

= During the Trine series, Hayes hit .647 (11-for-17) with three doubles, two triples and nine RBI. He leads the team with a .387 batting average for third in the MIAA and he ranks first in the conference in home runs (5), slugging percentage (.650) and RBI (42).

= Jacob Heller of Trine tops the MIAA in batting at .438.

= Adrian freshman pitcher Jordan Williams was credited with the win in Game 1 (7.0 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO), tying teammate Tommy Parsons with eight (both 8-0) atop the conference. Williams is tied for second with 58 strikeouts and fourth with a 1.83 earned-run average on the season.

= The Bulldogs are 11-3 on the road. Adrian has scored 103 runs and is batting .300 as a team in those 14 outings.
