Box Score 2 ADRIAN, Mich.--The nationally-ranked Adrian College baseball team completed an undefeated Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular-season at home after sweeping a Friday doubleheader over visiting Hope College on Senior Day, 9-2 and 11-8.

TOP 'DAWGS
= Sophomore Brady Wood was 5-for-6, including a double and triple, with three walks and three runs scored during the doubleheader.
= Senior Hunter Hayes led all student-athletes with four runs batted in on the afternoon.
= Classmate Tommy Parsons improved to 8-0 on the mound with a complete-game, six-hitter. He had seven strikeouts against no walks.
= Juniors Dugan Darnell, Zack Zschering and sophomore Tristin Richardson had three hits apiece in the twinbill.
THE OPPOSITION
= Jonathan Sojka was 3-for-5 and Evan Maday went 2-for-3 in the second game.
= Trace Slancik and Danny Carrasco both had two hits on the day.
= Landon Brower and Joey Merucci posted two RBI each in the opener and nightcap, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED, Game 1
= The Bulldogs scored four times in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. Hayes drew a bases loaded walk, Darnell hit a two-run single to center field and Richardson capped it with a RBI-double to right field.
= The Flying Dutchmen cut the deficit in half, 4-2, in the top of the second. With the bases loaded and one out, Brower had a two-run single off a diving second baseman's glove. The Bulldog defense prevented more runs by turning an inning-ending double play.
= Leading 5-2 after three, Adrian tacked on four insurance runs in the fourth. Hayes provided the highlight with a bases-clearing double to left-center and he would later score on a fielding error.
= Parsons threw 89 pitches, 69 for strikes. He allowed a base runner to second only twice after the second inning.
HOW IT HAPPENED, Game 2
= Adrian scored in each of the first four innings, including five unearned runs in the opening frame. The Bulldogs capitalized on two Hope errors and junior Justin McMann hit a key two-run double to left field.
= Adrian built an 11-1 lead before the Flying Dutchmen rallied for six runs in the sixth to close 11-7. Carrasco hit a leadoff homer to left field and Merucci capped it with a two-run single to center field as a pinch-hitter.
= Hope threatened again in the seventh, but Adrian freshman relief pitcher Mo Hanley shut the door. Hanley inherited a runner on third base and an 11-8 lead with one out when he struck out Maday and Merucci without further damage.
= Hanley finished his outing with his first collegiate save after going 2-2/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Adrian is ranked fourth in the second of three NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Rankings, released recently.
= Hope sees its season's best four-game winning streak snapped.
= Maday ranks second in MIAA batting average at .400, followed by No. 4 Wood at .388 and No. 5 Hayes, .381.
= Parsons continues to lead the conference in victories (9-0), strikeouts (94) and earned-run average (1.44).
= The opening game was delayed 28 minutes at the start due to lightning protocol.
= The Flying Dutchmen lead the all-time series 94-76, but Adrian has won 38 of the last 51 meetings; four of the past five games before today had been decided by one run.
= Adrian owns an 18-game winning streak at home dating back to last season.
= Sophomore Gunner Rainey has 99 career hits in an Adrian uniform, and senior Frank Resto has 98.
= All 11 of the AC program's 30-win seasons have come since 2008 and during the Craig Rainey coaching era.
= The Bulldogs won all 16 of their MIAA home games this spring--the first undefeated season at home in conference play in school history.
