ADA, Ohio -- The Adrian College women's lacrosse defeated Ohio Northern on the road to grab its second win of the season. The Bulldogs came away with a 9-5 victory with the help of a strong first half in which Adrian scored seven of its nine goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Adrian jumped on the board early with a goal from Carlee Casteel to take a 1-0 lead. After Ohio Northern tied the game, Gwyneth Carlson and Olive Stevens scored back-to-back goals to lead 3-1. After another Ohio Northern goal, Erika McDonald and Maddie Nicholas found the back of the net to lead 5-2. McDonald and Stevens scored their second goals of the game to lead at halftime 7-4.

The Bulldogs scored two goals from Carlson in the second half within the first three minutes. Ohio Northern netted a goal to bring the score to 9-5 with 18:30 left to play. The Bulldogs continued a strong defense and held Ohio Northern the rest of the way to bring the final score to 9-5.

Emily Anderson faced a total of six shots on goal as the Bulldogs defense forced 34 turnovers.
