WAVERLY, Mich. - On Friday afternoon, the Adrian cross country team was in action at the Lansing Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Lansing Community College.
On a comfortable day just west of Michigan's capital city, the Bulldog men ran an average time of 28:25 en route to a seventh place finish out of a field of 25 teams.
Senior,
Robert Diebold and junior,
Brett Carlisle paced Adrian with top-ten runs of 26:59.3 and 27:00.5 for ninth and tenth place results, respectively.
Caleb Billings (29:01.1),
Clayton Lynch (29:21.6),
Andrew Etherington (29:42.7), and Dontae Havinga-Hamilton (29:58.0) also turned in sub-30-minute time stamps for the Bulldog men.
On the women's side of the meet, Adrian sported an average time of 22:51 out of their total time of 1:54.16, and out of 22 teams, the 'Dogs ranked 14th.
Sophomore,
Emme Koutz led the Adrian women in 22nd place with personal time of 20:26.2.
Senior,
Sydney Feekings also placed for the black and gold, running a 21:50.9.
Sydney Wilkie (23:25.1),
Erika Parkinson (23:43.5),
Annabel Bishop (24:50.8),
Taylor Sempf (24:57.2), and
Adrienne Wasch (26:14.9) likewise posted individual times of under 30 seconds for Adrian.
The Bulldogs' cross country team now faces a two-week cushion before competing next at the Terracotta Open in Toledo, Ohio on October 15.
