ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian NCAA women's hockey team hosted a first of its kind match-up on Saturday afternoon, welcoming the Premier Hockey Federation's Buffalo Beauts to the Arrington Ice Arena.
Behind a three-goal performance by Emma Keenan, the visitors pulled away for an 8-0 decision.
The Beauts also received offensive contributions from Autumn MacDougall, Emilie Harley, Kennedy Ganser, Taylor Accursi and Cassidy Vinkle, who tallied a goal each. The latter also chipped in a pair of assists for Buffalo.
Adrian garnered 19 total shots on the afternoon, including a team-high five from
Sydney Daversa, who also picked up the game's third star. Five additional Bulldogs finished with two shots each, but Lovisa Berndtsson was solid in net for Buffalo, stopping everything the home side threw at her.
Sophie Goldberg and
Denisa Jandova both saw time in-between the pipes for the black and gold. Jandova, who was marked with the loss, made 10 saves, while Goldberg finished with 13 stops.
The weekend headliner was the Bulldogs' final exhibition before the start of the 2021-22 regular-season. Adrian will return to the Arrington Ice Arena for the season-opener on October 29 to challenge Oswego State at 7 p.m.
